How quoting, custom machining and delivery work — the things buyers ask us before they send a drawing.
What does Suman Engineering Works make?
We machine elevator lift components — diverter sheaves, main & traction sheaves, and lift and governor pulleys — in our Mayapuri, Delhi workshop. Every part is turned, grooved and balanced in-house to your drawing or sample, not sold off-the-shelf.
Do you work to my drawing, or only standard parts?
To your drawing. Send a PDF or DWG/DXF with your dimensions, tolerances and groove profile and we manufacture to it. Custom machining to spec is the whole point — we’re a machine shop, not a reseller.
I don’t have a drawing — can you still make the part?
Yes. Send us the worn or broken part, or a clear sample, and we measure and reproduce it. This is how we match obsolete or hard-to-source sheaves that are no longer sold anywhere.
How do I get a price?
Use the Request a Quote form and attach your drawing or a photo, or message us on WhatsApp. You’ll get back a price with the material, finish and a realistic lead time — no vague “call us”.
What details should I include for an accurate quote?
The more of these, the better: part type, quantity, material or grade, outer diameter, bore size, groove profile and rope diameter or pitch. Not sure? Just describe what you need or send a photo and we’ll fill in the gaps.
Can I upload a drawing or spec file with my enquiry?
Yes. The quote form accepts a PDF, DWG/DXF or image up to 5 MB. If a file is larger or you’d rather chat, send it over WhatsApp.
What materials and sizes can you machine?
Common grades include mild steel, EN8/EN9, cast iron, ductile iron, stainless, bronze and aluminium. We turn up to roughly Ø800 mm and hold tolerances to about ±0.02 mm, depending on the part.
Do you make one-off parts or only bulk orders?
Both. We’ll machine a single replacement or first-article part, then run repeat batches held to the exact same spec.
Do you cut grooves and balance the sheaves to my rope spec?
Yes. Grooves are cut to your rope pitch and profile — V, undercut-U or round seat — bores are finished to your shaft, and every wheel is statically balanced before it leaves the shop.
Where are you located, and do you supply outside Delhi?
Our workshop is in Mayapuri Industrial Area, Delhi. We supply across Delhi NCR and North India, and can arrange dispatch elsewhere — just ask when you enquire.
What are your hours, and how soon will you reply?
We’re open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am to 7:00 pm. Enquiries sent through the form or WhatsApp are usually answered the same working day.
